Autumn 2008

Welcome to the Autumn edition of the Nursery Newsletter. As usual, there is a very busy period ahead between now and Christmas and we have listed the schedule of events and dates in order that you can pencil them into your diaries.

STAFF MOVEMENTS

In August, we were delighted to welcome our new cook Michelle Leach to the Nursery. Michelle is a very experienced cook and has already reviewed/rewritten all our menus to ensure the children have food that is both enjoyable and very nutritious.

Clare Treacy who joined the Nursery exactly three years ago is leaving at the end of October to have a baby. We will miss her and will of course keep you informed of her progress. Christie Wright who joined the Nursery last year will be moving over from the 3 to 4 year old side to replace Clare on the little side.

NURSERY TOPIC:-

The Project for the period 7th September to the 13th October is COLOURS.

The 2 to 3 year old children will be learning about the colours red, yellow, green and blue. There will be a variety of activities, including songs and poems, to reinforce this topic.

The 3 to 4 year old children in addition to working with the primary colours will be learning about secondary colours plus black and white, light and dark and all the colours of the rainbow.

Again there will be a wide range of experiences to support this topic.

N.B. Please look on the notice board weekly to see what your child will be doing.
