Diwali 2012

We have had enormous fun this week at nursery exploring our Diwali activities.  The children have made divas, rockets & lanterns, dressed up in traditional costume, eaten Indian cuisine and experienced Mehndi hand painting.  A big thank you to Mrs Shah who planned the activities and her glamorous assistants Ms Selvam and Mrs Ruparelia!  Please click on the pictures below to enlarge them.

BBC Children In Need Friday 16th November

This Friday is the annual BBC fundraiser for 'Children In Need'.  We are going to be dressing up as something beginning with P (ie Princesses, Pirates, Policemen/women, Parrots, Peppa Pig - the list is endless and can be anything you can think of).  We are also holding a bring and buy cake sale as these have proved really popular with both the children and parents!  All we ask is for a £1 donation towards Children In Need or some cakes - homebaked or bought we don't mind.  Let's make this Children In Need our best fundraiser yet - thank you for your anticipated support!  *UPDATE* Picture added and lots of cakes baked and donated.  WE HAVE RAISED A GRAND TOTAL OF £179.00!!  Thank you so much to all who helped us to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.

Folder Evenings 13th & 14th November

Just to remind everyone that our Folder Evenings are Tuesday 13th & Wednesday 14th November from 4.30 to 6.00pm.  This is an opportunity to come into nursery and look through your child's folder so see the work they have produced so far and their keyworker's reports and observations.  Children are very welcome to attend with you.  Thank you!

We will be hosting our annual Autumn Shopping Bonanza this Wednesday evening (Wednesday 7th November, 7.30pm until 9.30pm) at the nursery.  This is an opportunity to start your Christmas shopping as we have a fabulous selection of stalls from local independent traders, including (among others) the following:

 

Bags of Class - handbags and scarves

Masters & Matthews - toys

Handmade jewellery

Old fashioned sweets

Snuggle Buggle Fleeces - fleeces and hair accessories

Cookie Box - Cake mixes and Christmas puddings

Plus many more including - cushions, t-shirts, cards, notebooks, diaries, gifts, lights, hand made hair clips, cosmetics, quilts, personalised gifts.....

 

With far too many stalls to mention, you really must come along - AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS!

 

Tickets for the evening are £1.00 per person and include wine and nibbles.  Although tickets will be available on the door, where possible please purchase your ticket in advance.
