Just a little reminder that our pre-school information evenings are being held next week for all our parents with children on the older side in their pre-school year. These evenings contain vital information on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and what this entails for your child. We highly recommend that you attend and each evening should last for approximately one hour. If you haven't already sent your reply slip back to nursery please ring the office and speak to Caroline or Emma to book your place.

Jeans for Genes Day
A big thank you to our parents for participating in Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 20th September. We raised a total of £75.00 and it was lovely to see the children (and staff) sporting various denim clothing. I took great delight in being able to wear double denim and you don't see that very often!

Sainsbury's Active Kids Goodies
Despite the fact that a kid is actually a young goat, we collected plenty of tokens for our children due to the genorosity of all our lovely parents as usual. We have banked a large amount of tokens for use next year and exchanged the rest for some lovely balls of all shapes and sizes. Here's a few action pictures to say THANK YOU!

Queen of Hearts Sports Day
Praneeth Lagisetty, a past pupil of the Queen of Hearts and current pupil at Bishop Stopford, visited the nursery in August and organised a special 'Olympic' sports day for the children. He was assisted by his sister, Neha (also a past pupil), and mum Superna (definitely not a past pupil!). The children had a brilliant time competing in the various sports games that Praneeth had planned for them, culminating in an Olympic podium style trophy presentation at the end and plenty of medals given to lots of the children involved. Hopefully, this will not be the last time that Praneeth organizes his special Olympic event and we look forward to next summer so we can do it all over again!
Waterstone's Trip
Some of our pre-school children had a literary treat at the end of August when Waterstone's invited us to attend a reading of 'Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam' by author Tracey Corderoy. The book's illustrator, Steven Lenton, was also in attendance and the children concocted a new character with him namely 'The Queen of Hearts Silly Moustache Spider!' The children thoroughly enjoyed their time at Waterstones and even had time to create masks and make biscuits before the short journey home.
